More Hands on Deck! The Future of Escape Simulator 2
Hello, Escapers!
We have some big news to share today! Not only do we have an update on the development of Escape Simulator 2, but we’re also growing our family.
🤝 The Pine Studio Family is Growing!
We are incredibly excited to announce that Somnium Games has officially joined Pine Studio!
If that name sounds familiar, it’s because we’ve been « unofficial » partners for years. They were the creative minds behind the fan-favorite ES1: Magic DLC and collaborated with us on the Faraway series. By bringing their talented team into Pine Studio, we now have 28 people working under one roof.
What does this mean for Escape Simulator 2? It means more content, faster development, and more polish. With this expanded team, we can provide much better support for both games simultaneously. To celebrate this union, we just released a brand-new free room for Escape Simulator 1 , inspired by the unique “paper and ink” world of Somnium’s
🗺️ What’s Cooking in ES2?
We know you’re hungry for more details about the future ES2 updates, so we wanted to share a look at what the team is currently working on:
• Two New Free Rooms: We have two free rooms in active development. The first, set in a museum of illusions, is planned for release on May 28.
• Our First DLC: Work has already begun on the first official DLC for ES2, featuring four brand-new rooms with a unique theme. We are even ready to release a community favorite: the classic « blurred screenshots » teaser!

• VR Update Progress: We know many of you are waiting for the VR experience. We are making excellent progress! If everything goes smoothly, we are aiming to have the VR update out by the end of this year.
• Summer Building Competition: For our creative community, get your thinking caps on. We are preparing our next big competition for builders this summer!
• Double the Love for ES1: We aren’t leaving the original behind! We are also working on a brand-new DLC and a free room specifically for the first Escape Simulator.
🔧 Why We’re Skipping the Roadmap
You might notice we aren’t sharing a calendar with fixed dates. We’ve learned that rigid roadmaps can lead to unnecessary pressure on our team. Instead, we’re focusing on quality of life and quality of content. We’ll share the exact dates and trailers as soon as each piece of content is polished and ready for you to play.
We’re so glad to have you on this journey with us. The addition of Somnium Games is a huge milestone for us, and we can’t wait to show you what 28 passionate puzzle-lovers can build together!
