City Car Driving 2.0

City Car Driving 2.0 : Game update journal #7

Game update journal #7

Two weeks ago, we shared the Early Access trailer for our game. What did you think? Share your impressions in the comments: What felt missing? What would you like to see? What are you hoping for from the game?

In this issue, as always, you can check out what we’ve accomplished over the past month. Plus, we’ve included a link to an archive of visual materials for the game.

Let’s dive in! 👇

🔧 What we’ve been working on:

🎮 Gameplay Experience

• We’re constantly playtesting the game and fine-tuning the balance and overall experience we want to deliver to players.
• Completed the final round of bugfixes for our test track — and finally wrapped up all work on it! 🏁

🎨 Art & Visuals

• Preparing a new location for upcoming updates: the city’s coastal district (more on that soon!).
• Finalized graphics settings for High and Medium presets — still polishing and bugfixing the Low settings for optimal performance.
• Created a brand-new player vehicle (unfortunately, it’ll arrive in a future update) — it’s different from regular traffic and built for… racing! 🏎️💨

🚦 Traffic AI

• Continuing to improve traffic behavior: fixed a long-standing issue where vehicles would get stuck at intersections. Traffic now flows much more smoothly.

⚙️ Gameplay & Mechanics

• Added steering non-linearity, dead zones, maximum steering angle, and other customization options for simulation fans.
• Optimized the object culling distance script — for better performance across all systems.

🌍 Big Picture

We’re preparing the game for its upcoming release. Most likely, Game Update Journal #9 will feature a massive list of improvements that have been in progress for a long time — all coming together at once.

🥚 This Issue’s Easter Egg

Instead of a traditional hidden detail, we’re sharing a link to our Google Drive , where you can download:

• Images of the early version of our Steam page design;
• Legacy in-game screenshots;
• Updated visual materials.
